He's glad the men aren't being too.. rowdy. He knows how sailors can be. But he's glad that she seems to have a handle on it. What he's not ready for is the way she falters a little bit when he tells her he's leaving. He wants to poke at it more but decides not to. It's really not a good idea. He's not built for that kind of thing. "To Stormbreak, with Ronin. I.." He kind of inhales, shaking his head, "I joined the Dragoons? Feels kind of stupid at this point but I'm a little excited." Nervous is probably a better word but excited isn't out of the equation either.
He pokes the box with the dagger in it, "S'got a little dragon on it. Get it?" Why does he feel like he's messed something up? They're not a thing. Well, they're a thing but not a thing. He was always planning on leaving and she knew that.. But he still feels kind of bad about it? Like he should stay? He swallows thickly, running a hand through his hair. "But he's building a skyboat.. So you can come visit me. If you want. Or I can come here when I'm not training. I think we get some free time off." He's not sure why she'd come see him but he kind of hopes she does..
"And I'll get a dragon, at some point. I think..S'pretty cool, right?" His heart is racing and he's forgotten about his tea except he's got a death grip around the handle. He just keeps repeating that they aren't a thing, that this is fine. This pain in his chest is only because he's never really done this with anyone. A few times, when he was young and foolish but not in years.. He can't give her what she wants and he has to remind himself of that.
