DEIMOS
we've all got blood on our hands
something somewhere had to die
so we could stay alive
Well, this had been a complete waste of time.

He should’ve known that going in – but the Sword couldn’t say he hadn’t tried; which was more than the Wraith had attempted. At the very least, there was nothing owed, nothing gained, nothing altered, nothing changed, nothing sunken in but the mutual considerations one had for the other.

And truth be told, he truly didn’t care what Wessex thought of him. She could have her hypocrisies and half-truths, her victim complexes and beliefs. The world would spin and spit them back out again anyway. If she couldn’t be bothered to listen, then he wouldn’t persist.

With the peryton’s feathers thoroughly ruffled, Deimos took hold of him, and offered a one-fingered salute to the Wrath’s retreating back, before hastening his way towards Torchline and its storms, Zuriel following suit.
