It's a riot of song in the end, and the crew joins with gusto now that it's more than shrieking harmonies ringing across the deck. With the slap of a guitar and a beat played out against a barrel, the Ark serenades the sea and the stars, and Jack can even imagine that their sails have filled a little more with the morale boost. But all songs must end, and soon the Wellerman comes for the last time (dirty bitch) and the music fades.
Rising to his feet, the captain drains the last of his bottle and stretches. "Now you can fuck right off," he informs Aurelia in particular, nudging Milo right back with his elbow and nodding between them. "Go easy - booze has gotta last us all the way to King's End." If it sounds like Jack is winding things down, it's because he is. What they decide to do with the rest of the night is up to them, but the captain has shit to do.
