There was a lull in the storms for the time being. Which was perfect because that meant that Auntie Maeve was going to finally take her to meet her new friend. Something she has been waiting to do for what felt like ages. It wasn't really that long, but to Paige it felt like an eternity. Especially when the possibility of a best friend was so close. With the monsoons raging outside their door, it wasn't really possible to go out and play. Which meant no exploring or swimming or building sandcastles. None of the fun things she normally got to do. So with the promise of a friend and a sleep over which meant ample playtime, Paige was beyond excited.
She holds onto Maeve's hand, her little cloth backpack over her shoulders as her sandaled feet find every possible puddle. Before long they're outside the door. Maeve smiles down at her, releasing her hand and urging her forward. "Go ahead and knock, sweetling. I'm sure she's just as excited as you are." The woman encourages her and Paige takes a deep breath before stepping forward, balling up her little fist and knocking on the door before her.
