Blowing in from the south, it brought along a briney scent of salt and sea that mingled with the fragrance of spring in a heady combination that reminded Seren of Torchline. Breathing in deeply, she let out a soft sigh and turned to her father with a smile.
"It smells like home," she remarked, cheerful and content as they left the Celestine behind. Though a woman grown, she couldn't resist reaching for Ronin's hand; it had been far too long since they were able to be together. "I was supposed to have come here a long while ago, you know. But between the plague and Tanau..." She shrugged lightly. It sounded like excuses to her own ears; something was always happening in some corner of Caido, and safety was a relative concept.
