Despite the fact the other Ascended might think he’s alone, he’s not. Varus simply hadn’t wanted to let himself be known just yet. So he waits, watching curiously from within the shadows of Mourn and the graveyard that makes up the rolling hills, before he curiously sees the way Nate sets up a few things, flips off the moon, and seems to grow quite impatient.
So he supposes he’s not going to get much else out of this quiet little observation and might as well have a bit of fun after three hundred years of stasis.
He appears as if he’s just arrived, of course, a slight stumble as he kicks a rock toward the stones that mark a grave, shaking his head. “Mother fucking Mourn and it’s godsdamn hills.” Varus hisses quite audibly, announcing his presence. Because initially, he had been looking for something he’d dropped sometime three hundred years ago – it was likely it had gotten buried just like himself, but that’s beside the point.
He’d simply grown more distracted and interested in what Nate’s whole venture was.
“Hey kid, you see a silver necklace around here somewhere?” He calls out to Nate, wanting nothing more than to cross his arms but only having one made it difficult to do, so it hangs limply at his side.
