While Iris was considering the dilemma that was the woman’s immaculately white skin, the stranger spoke, clearing away all doubt. She carried with her the hot Torchline air, speaking with an attitude one usually acquires on Haulani’s sand-swept streets.
Iris left the bar behind her, approaching the familiar stranger’s booth. A smile crept up on her face, a tentative excitement, like she was a kid about to receive a toy. ”Maybe.
