The broad smile remained intact, in place, as Lyra accepted her offerings. Not daring enough to reach out and scratch the dragon’s head yet, the woman simply stood still and listened to the purrs of contentment, the ease in which it all came to pass.
She only turned her head lightly in the man’s, now Eryx’s, direction. The compliment extended caused the grin to dimple, and she eased a little hum to match Lyra’s. “I’m the Caretaker of the Celestine. I’ve met many like her – all awe-inspiring to be sure.” The resurgence in the Dragoons she’d met lately probably should’ve alarmed her – because it likely meant war was coming – but instead the notion of more and more of the companions seemed to fill her with excitement and ease. “Have you had her long?”
