Small, brown eyes peer out across the river. The sun is just beginning to crest over the treetops. As its rays fall across the water, the light turns the colors each a different shade. They're brighter, bolder, and yet they still hold memory. She's been here before. She'd sought the teachings of a man who she really hadn't known, who really hadn't deserved her admiration or trust. The memory, while at the time had been something pleasant to look back on, feels darker and corrupted now with the events that have passed.
She meanders towards the riverbank's edge casually, where stained rocks jumble together, creating their own vision of the rainbow. Traveling in her shift is preferable to travelling by foot; it blends in among the trees and shrubs, slipping through {seemingly} unnoticed. At least most people don't recognize her like this. That's another plus.
Absent-minded, her paws reach out to wiggle some of the rocks along the water's edge. When one of them is knocked loose by a minute whirl of movement beneath it, her attention is drawn down into the shallows. A frog darts out from beneath the stones, panicking away. Her fuzzy ears immediately prick up with a sudden, strangely predatory urge. She jumps into the water, tail waving like a banner, splashing after the little frog with intent to capture it.
