She took an intermission of sorts, from the packing, from the details originating in her mind, from the push and pull and pulse in a variety of directions. This morning was for exploring, amassing her knowledge of the world before them, and for some deterrent from the life aching down the notches in her spine (war might be breathing there too – because eight seasons could go by in a flash if she wasn’t paying attention).
The honeybee and faithful Fangorn took a detour away from the misty proportions of the lower pools, and scaled up, up, up towards the rush and roar of the falls. There she sucked in a massive breath, expanding her arms in a restless stretch, staff over her head, almost tempted to scream into the void with a round of laughter, a dose of merriment, she didn’t feel in her bones. Drifting and aimless – even when there were so many ways to go.
Her companion grumbled though, and she looked down to find a hoard of his fellows had followed. “Ah, I missed all of you so much!” The grin thereafter was a little deceiving, very Cheshire-laced, as she maneuvered her armament lower. How amusing would it be to shove them all off the waterfall itself? Urging Fangorn to come in behind her, the youth’s smile enveloped into something disastrous and almost cunning, as she raised the weapon as if going to bat.
