It should be nine for me as well.” Hands on her hips, minus the staff, and she trudged her way forward through the long grass, peering along the roots and nettles, the thorns and brush, following after Sah’s voice.
Fangorn, with all his apprehension, wisely stayed back. Her heart went out to him, very briefly, as it did so much through Leafchange antics, blocking the whole sight from view. At the very least, the ones that had gone over the falls were likely still floating on the water, grumbling their way over to the banks. This one had no chance of survival. “All right,” she murmured after a moment of clarity, rumbling over the thoughts in the back of her mind. “We can take it back to Torchline and have a grand feast.” With someone who knew how to bake it; because that certainly wasn’t her.
