There was a bit of movement to her side, and at first she paid it no attention. It was probably a bird, some kind of small creature trying to survive the harshness of the winter. Yet, as she continued to approach the Luxere, it caught her attention again, as if it were heading in the same direction as her. It wasn’t moving very fast, not like a bird would – but with the same kind of caution that she took while she tried to approach the glowing antlered creatures. Her head turned to look at who approached, and when she realized who it was, it was Melita and a large grin spread across her face. She offered the girl a small nod, and her head tilted toward the few Luxere that remained by the water as they approached nearer – though she paused in her step enough to let Melita catch up if she wanted to. But Rexanna’s attention remained on the Luxere, and she realized she couldn’t carry a tune at all with the creatures. For a moment, she paused, tossing an apple to the Luxere as she kept her distance. Her eyes slipping to Melita with a slight shrug as the Luxere flinched from the movement. But there was one that seemed particularly interested and approached quietly toward the apple where it had finally landed – tentatively grabbing it gently and biting into it. Turning to Melita, she opened the bag of apples she had brought with her and offered the girl a few to toss toward them as well. RexannA nothing ever ends poetically. all that blood was never once beautiful, it was just red.
