“Look at you.” Nate turns the full force of his grin on Maeve as he accepts the paper, his tongue dipping out to wet his bottom lip before he finally looks down at the list. The pencil twirls in his fingers, Nate sucking his teeth and making a few marks on the list of rooms. “How many floors are there?” The question comes out almost absently, Nate still pouring over the paper when she continues.
Confusion pinches his brows when he looks up, his eyes sparkling under his dark curls. “That sounds fine. Why wouldn’t it be alright with me?” Nate asks, stepping to follow her as they begin the tour. He was behaving himself, a reminder he had to repeat over and over, just to keep from rising to the hooks she so delicately waved above his head.
