Maeve muses softly, motioning for him to follow her to a nearby bench, taking a seat on the edge of it with a sigh.
Her hands find her lap, fingers twisting into the fabric in a nervous habit that perhaps gives away her unease as she struggles to find where to begin. "I'm just trying to keep myself safe, Remi..." She says softly, daring to look up at him from beneath her lashes, a sheen of tears suddenly making her eyes glassy. "I don't have anyone else who is going to truly look after me like that. Not in the way you and Ronin have each other. I can't just sit here and do nothing." Locke was gone, Sunjata was leaving, Remi and Ronin were off to the Greatwood and concerned for their own family. She was going to have to look after herself. Her baby. There was a war coming. They both knew it. All she could do was try and slot herself into a position that offered safety.
