Theo couldn't help coughing as the dragon's scalding smoke wafted into his face, burning and choking him. That coughing might have been for the best, though, as otherwise he would have tried to talk. He wanted to assure his attacker that of course he wouldn't take advantage of anyone ever again, nope, he was on the straight and narrow from now on. This would be a lie, of course, but lies had gotten Theo out of plenty of bad situations -- and into plenty of them, too, but never mind that. He'd just have to be more careful for a while, in case this guy kept watching him. Maaaybe take a little vacation from Torchline. Where else would hold him? Hmm, well, he hadn't pissed off too many people in the Hollowed Grounds.
Such thoughts occupied Theo, but his only outward actions were to attempt a nod amidst the dragon's smoke and wriggle a little in an attempt to shield his face. Other than that, he lay still and unresistant, simply waiting for his attackers to give up and move on.
