Mabel would’ve been content to stir and stab along in silence for a multitude of time; she enjoyed the prevailing nature of nothingness, and then the ghostly trails of damnation in between. But an air of mischief caught her too, and because she didn’t know Nikolai well, she wasn’t certain what the reaction would be.
