The confirmation that his current dealings can continue unimpeded is enough, and Jack is about to say so when Maeve continues, the captain tilting his head at her as he waits for the honeytrap to spring. "Is that so?" he says coolly, sitting back in his seat now and absently slipping a pack of cigarettes and some matches from the inside of his waistcoat. He places one between his lips and offers one out to Maeve.
"What's the regional quest?" he wants to know, given that he's meant to help with it. "I ain't swimmin' out in the middle of the sea again with some Mer, if that's what you're after." It hadn't been that bad, in truth; Jack just likes to complain about it.
But then pop! goes the trap, and as Maeve leans forward, Jack's blue eyes narrow. For all the world he's uninterested, but that's exactly what a poker face is for. "I have a ship," he says eventually. "I don't need another. I don't need a fleet of 'em. Can sweet lady Safrin make the Ark fly?" he wants to know. "That'd be enough to sweeten any deal."
