While she’d probably be fully capable of handling them on her own, Locke was cursed and Maeve was quite pregnant; she wasn’t going to invite the semblances of chaos at the other woman’s expense.

Instead, she nodded along and forged a path of obedience, applying efforts with her buckets, lifting them up into the cart with ease; following directions and accord with a light, genial hum. Locke seemed ready and eager to take on the load, and she permitted it, intending to take any others and motion through with the same.
