What he wants is to tangle himself up against her and simply exist in this place that's outside both of their jurisdictions. He doesn't want to walk, or talk, or do anything other than linger in her presence, but the time for such things has long since passed, and so as she takes his arm, Remi stiffly exhales and swallows down this fresh flush of melancholy.

"I should not have told you." He admits, offering her a half-smile over his shoulder. "But I had to." Without more to be said—the ball was in Isla's court now—Remi tries to track down the joy he had felt when he'd first spotted her. "I really have missed you, you know." He says, nudging his shoulder against hers, his eyes bright and adoring.

"Mateo keeps growing like a weed. He excels in everything that he does." The alchemist continues, directing them around a particularly soupy bit of earth.
