Nate is more than happy to follow after Wessex, an apologetic glance thrown back where Loki is left behind, even as Pemota follows after them, albeit at a distance. It’s another route Nate keeps track of silently, just in case, though admittedly his full attention is not on it this time.
Gears work slowly in Nate’s mind while they walk, chugging over something that didn’t quite sit right. He can’t work out what it is exactly though, not until they get to the inscription, and he stops completely, his brows furrowing. “What if... what if we don’t need to bring the Prince to the Last Step?” Nate turns to look at Wessex, his head cocked. “What if he’s going there himself? To wish them together again, or... something?” It doesn’t seem outside the realm of possibility, hell, it’s all but relatable, and that’s what makes him worry he might just be projecting.
