So it was with a malicious little grin that she bowed her head at the compliment. “Thank you,” and sought to render it again and again. Competition spurned and her ego burned and all of it clambered together in a complexity of heathen indulgences.
Her eyes went over to Maeve, launching and whipping, wondering if the sovereign would ever acquire an armament meant for distance, but shrugged it off.
Especially when they were still tied. Time to try and change that up.
So Melita took some moments to consider her options, pondering if there was a way to hit two at once. It’d take a generous amount of luck and skill, far more on the former than the latter, given the way the birds swayed, cawed, and seemed generally pissed off. Her eyes centered, pinpointed on a few clustered together in flight, but from the moment she drew the strand she knew it wasn’t going to herald her desired result.
The arrow sparked and sizzled, but only acquired one as it dropped to the earth with a satisfying plunge.
