He doesn’t know why Edmund is suddenly so nervous, the term Abandoned slipping from the youths lips with ease but this hidden terror which only causes Sunjata’s brows to inch together, the Attuned shifting his weight as he remains crouched in front of the boy. “You might be.” He confirms, though there’s little to no reason to be afraid of that, as far as Sunjata’s concerned.
But then Edmund continues and it dawns on him, and there’s an immediate smile that spreads lightly across Sunjata’s face as he shakes his head. “No, she won’t be mad at Maeve.” He confirms, scanning Edmund’s face with his tired steel. “She won’t be mad at you, either.” He comments, as if it might help. “There are a lot of abandoned that have relationships with the gods.”
He’s trying to figure out what to say next when Edmund wants to test the theory, so Sunjata nods and pulls out the little zippo-like lighter that had been made for him what felt like ages ago. He flips open the top and strikes the flint wheel and a flame erupts from the end and Sunjata’s careful to hold it from the base as his gaze flickers from the lighter to the boy as he remains positioned to block any wind that might come to try and mess with the flame. “Alright, let’s see.”
