She considered it far more successful than her own attempts, and clutched her stomach as the rope rolled, unfurling into several of the richer merchants, ribs and side hurting from the inevitable volley of giggles. Rubbing at her eyes, she hadn’t even noticed the direction of their ire (expecting it, inevitably, upon them) pinpointed solely on poor beloved Fangorn.

The vampire gourd blanched and growled as the townsfolk began their outcry in earnest, and Melita shook her head. “Dumb bastards,” she whispered, a snarky grace to her poise as she snagged at another set of pennants. Rolling them into another neat ball, this time she ensured the ends were tucked within, solidifying it instead of threatening the unraveling. “All right, let’s see what this can do,” she arched her brow and twisted the sinister grin towards Azure. A challenge, maybe. The youth was all about provocation, goading, and emboldened ventures in any form.
So before the maddening rush descended upon her companion, Melita chucked the ball directly at them, aiming, intending, to hit them squarely in the head, neck, or shoulders.
