Maybe it was the treacherous landscape – offering naught but a seemingly endless barrage of difficulties, traps, and snares. At least with the Climb, the hot springs had been layered and lacquered in amongst the desecration (and he enjoyed fire; a natural element right down the maelstroms in his flesh and bone). There was the possibility he simply hadn’t set foot in the right area, but as far as ventures and explorations went, he was beginning to believe they would’ve been better off forging through the desert.
Casting away another resurgence of the fog with his air incantations, he’d long since notified Hotaru of his current whereabouts. If she had any inclination to ignore his request, she could do so – their last meeting had been mercurial and tenuous at best. But he shrugged his shoulders, maneuvering around and over another set of jagged proportions of wood, while Zuriel stepped behind him, and Belial batted at dead leaves nearby.
The tar bubbled nearby, promises of more duplicitous actions, and he shook his head, half a warning on his tongue before repeating the same process as before – flickering the fog away from their process and progress through the mystifying haze.
