Nate lets his tongue dip out of his mouth slowly as he grins at Nikolai, shrugging easily at the silvery flush that crosses the younger ascended's cheeks. "You're the one who brought it up." He protests, trying to not sound huffy and petulant. He's not about to be shamed for this. Not that Nikolai really has the power to shame him.
"Bad memories." Nate says it with a growl, taking another step close, longer this time so he can close more of the distance between them. "You know I woke up here after being starved in a cave for two weeks and watching my husband die?" He leans back, hands on his hips as he looks around. "It's where I became a Demi-god. Had that bitch Safrin burned out of me by the Voice."
Nate stops short, his grin no longer reaching his eyes as he stares across at Nikolai. "Didja know thats the only kind of pain we can really feel anymore?"
