Everyone took to their tasks and Gideon went back to his, choosing and cleaning the items for the altar for the season and festival and making sure he had all his prayers, songs and speeches ready. Some items had reverence, had to be kissed and held aloft before he could put them away or get them out, but most he simply fussed over, moving an inch to the left then a centimetre to the right until they were just perfect.

He nodded to Lena with permission to go through the decorations. Admittedly, he had put the job of maintaining them on the backburner for quite some time - it was much easier to just throw everything in a box at the end of the season, even if it would be a pain next year. As a result, while there were plenty of whole paper chains, drawings and ornaments, there were also shards of broken glass and pottery lining the bottom of the box, ripped art from children made long ago and a distressing amount of glitter rested on every surface.

It wasn't long after Gideon set out the jobs that the group of children arrived, the sons and daughters of various pious Stormbreak residents. They ranged in age from toddlers to tweens, some of them looking far more excited about the task than the others. They naturally gravitated towards Gideon, but he pointed towards Sera. "That nice lady over there will show you all the dance for this year. Be on your best behaviour!"

Over in the kitchen, October would find herself in possession of a surprising amount of good ingredients and spices, but even the most cursory glance at the cupboards would reveal a problem: droppings, nests and sometimes the culprits themselves, mice. They had taken over the room and if one looked, they could be seen in every shadow and corner - clearly, Gideon had not been in this space for quite some time.

Lena:  Several of the decorations have seen much better days. Make new, or repair the old?

Sera: The children have arrived! Try your best to get them organise and ready to learn the dance!

October: Mice! How are you going to deal with these skittering, yet adorable, pests?
