“I can’t say Melita’s my biggest fan. I think she only tolerates me because we’re family.” He admits a bit idly, though there’s a hint of amusement that tugs at the corner of his lips and pours down the attuned bond. “Nate’s always been her favorite uncle anyway. I’m not sure why I bother with the competition anymore.” It’s said as a joke but it falls flat by the time the once kittens, now full grown cats arrive.
The pale cat nearer to Aurelia purrs quite the roaring sound when she receives the pets, and the other two are intrigued but a bit more shy as they curl around Sunjata. The blurt Aurelia has immediately has Sunjata’s eyebrows shooting up in surprise and shock. “Shhh.” He’s a bit too loud, just as she was, and the cats spook a fraction – their fur sticking up in poofs all along their backs and their tails. “They were strays from the Grounds. Nate and I took them in, they’ve always looked like this.” So ugly they’re cute, is what Sunjata truly thinks.
But he groans quietly when he can hear the cry of one of the twins from the other room, shortly followed by the second one. He picks the cats up and sets them on the floor, standing up from the table to raise a brow back at Aurelia. “Fuck. I told you they’d wake up if we were too loud.” He says louder now, no point in keeping quiet when the twins were awake anyway.
And she’s more than welcome to follow him into the other room, where he quickly disappears into. Should she follow, she’ll see him cradle one of the twins – Amadeus – while he rests his hand into Romeo’s crib, offering a bit of cooing, gentle whispers in Korofi to try and soothe the squirming, now grumbling twins.
