Dawn sneaks its fingers through their curtains, but it's not enough to drag Finn out of his slumber. An insomniac for the majority of his life, now that he has found something (someone, rather) to keep his nights peaceful, he covets his rest like a sinner with a secret. And so it's not the light that stirs him from where he's snug beneath the blankets and curled around Tobi - it's the rain.
It begins as a soft patter and quickly develops into a low, steady thrum, and even though Finn is absurdly comfortable, as the wind picks up and thrashes the downpour against their windows, stormy eyes reluctantly peel open. "We do not need to water our plants today." The words escape on a sigh, Finn burrowing back into the pillows and into Tobi's dark hair, as if he can hide from the weather the same way a child might hide from a scary movie.
