“What do you think?” the General says as she pushes the double doors open in a ‘grand reveal’ gesture, leading Varus into the vastly bigger space. To be honest, it isn’t much to look at from the outside. It’s dark, covered up by stone and metal and wood, everything in the exterior intended to be fire-proof, if they’re lucky. The inside is large enough to hold a dragon and her mech shift, easily, with a couple of pillars at the end that they’ll need to avoid for stability’s sake. And then her office, of course, in the far corner, and racks of salvaged weapons at the opposite end of the building.
They’ll be able to see easily in here - but to anyone else, it’s just another dark cave. She twirls a bit in the middle of the singular room, arms outstretched as if to say see what we’ve done?
It’s a small victory. Something to be proud of, and some place where they can truly play, which is essentially, because Wessex has lots of ideas, post relic-hunting in the Sea of Glass.
