“Tell me you didn’t just snort.” Varus says with a chuckle of laughter himself, sparing a moment to squint at the Wraith as if he can’t believe she’d just done something like that. But she gives him a look and he stills where he is, his heavy metal arm sliding back down to his side as he waits for her to take the space she needs, preparing himself for what she might pull out.
Turns out, it’s nothing at all what he’s expected. She shifts into a giant metal bird thing, and his amusement quickly turns into bewilderment and then finally settling in awe, something quite useless when it comes to trying to be a stealthy assassin. But she taunts him with a loud scree that has him breaking out of it, shaking his head with another laugh. “Gods.” He sighs, but doesn’t give himself much time to psych himself out as he squints at her and then darts over to grab a big worn shield, hooking it to his metal arm and heading back over to her with a grin.
“Let’s see how well you can deal with shields to start, huh?” Because as far as he’s concerned, there’s going to be a lot of blocks for a shift like that and she’ll need to be agile with it.
