It was fairly innocent when looked at by itself. She was already fast, but some extra speed never hurt. Not that she'd likely be faster than any of his kin. No, it still likely wouldn't be enough. However, pairing it with her whip? Well, that was an entirely different story. One that Maeve wasn't exactly eager to write, but would should the time come. She hopes that she'll never have to cross Adam's or Pet's path like this. Out of all the Ascended, they're some of the few that she's the closest with. The idea of causing them harm makes her stomach turn, but war is tricky and soon it won't be an option to straddle the line any longer.

Maeve snorted, shaking her head as she looks beneath the dock on her belly, curls hanging down over the edge, "No, nothing like that. Just have to catch it." She supposed that's the feat in itself. Cats weren't easily caught. Especially not cats like these.

The Nightshade stood, hands on her hips as Adam jumped off the pier, landing (almost) gracefully in the sand. "I got some fish. I thought it might be helpful." And a sack to grab it with, but that came later. She hopped down after him, using a hand to brace herself in the sand as she got back to her feet, turning towards the dock. In the same motion, the Nightshade offered him the fish, nose wrinkling at the smell.
