For maybe the first time, the bright blue of Nate’s eyes is clear, nothing lurking in the depths of it, nothing hiding in the lines of his face or the quirk of his brows or lips. There is a suspicious lump on his shoulders, under his shirt, but before any questions can be asked or explanations offered Nate’s frowning, the ring finally in place in his finger but the bond… silent.
