Nate fishes a cigarette out of his pocket as they step into the garden, his head very carefully turned away from the back of the house. “Oh, hai fretta adesso?” There’s more strain in his grin now, his nose curled with the effort of maintaining it. He rolls his shoulders back and stretches, glancing around the garden and squinting against the sun. “Bella giornata, eh?”
The cigarette is placed between his lips, the eyes above it finally focusing back on Remi. “Gonna be a scorcher.” The shift in language is the only real warning before he moves, Nate clearing the few steps between them and driving his foot between the Lullaby’s legs with all the force he can muster, all of his anger and loathing for the smug demi-god channeled into the strike.
It’s wishful thinking, but he wants to feel something pop.
With his reward taken, Nate drops the vial of his fluid as delicately as he can at Remi’s feet and steps past him towards the house again, lighting his smoke as he goes. “Buona giornata, cornuto.”
