All expectations make her heart feel numb
Hands wrapped around her bony legs, like filaments of stark, pale things sticking out in the refrain of darkness. It was a wonder she was alive at all, maybe brought back over and over again to suffer. To reflect. She didn’t know. She couldn’t say.
