The nights have lost their minds
It’s a golden moment, and it will live on as a golden moment in his head, one of many that come right before disaster, though in comparison this disaster is mild. Nate’s strangely aware of the way the apple explodes against the wall, some part of him more annoyed with himself than he is about the bug, still latched on to his hand until warm ones cradle it, and pry the pest away.

Holographic arms crackle into existence and lift each twin, Nate sitting them on the counter on either side of him, firm hands holding them steady. A smile flickers over his face, more sincere the more the anger thaws away. “i thought I was supposed to be the doctor here?” His fingers wiggle in Sunjata’s grip, settling off a mini light show. “Maybe Safrin sent it.” The joke rolls off his tongue easier now, most of the shock and anger she’d away from Nate.
