Edy's distaste for the Sparkbird did surprise Adam a little after everyone he'd met so far had seemed indifferent or reverent of it. What had it done to her? Maybe she was pissed that no one was trying to eat the big spicy bird, like he was. He almost immediately said 'sparky shit' ten times in a row, but managed to hold his tongue. Edy's powers did definitely seem like the kind of thing that could kill him (or worse, ruin his hair) so he didn't want to mess with them until he knew her well enough to get away with teasing.
