Hotaru never doubts Deimos’ abilities, and for good reason - she watches as he descends in a dark streak, wings tight about his body, silent in his controlled freefall. It is done in moments. The snap of talons around flesh that gives too easy, the rend and tear of a sharp-edged beak. Another life snuffed out between the two kindred spirits, as hundreds of others have been before it.

Eyeing the dead rodent they’d used to attract the rock slider in the first place, Ru stretched and leisurely wanders over towards it, sparks of a beginning plan in her head. Turning back to her brother in the sky, her grin can be felt even if it cannot translate to her feline features. I’ve got an idea. Follow me.
