I’d rather be older and able to help if someone gets hurt than not be able to even move a single person off the proverbial field, you know?” Small and useless, in need of protection instead of capable of even the most minor support. Sliding his shirt on, damp spots immediately bleeding through the fabric, Enzo winces and the hand comes up habitually once more to rub the back of his neck. “We uh…we didn’t ask permission before we did it. Kinda knew one of them would object if we did.” And they hadn’t intended on letting either parent stop them.
