It was lightly snowing and had been doing so since the night before, leaving a crisp, fresh powder over the well-packed layers from earlier snowfalls. Bundled in his layers Tal looked bulkier than he had any right to, and they didn't make it easy to tackle the rock climbing wall. In spite of his sweaters, parka, gloves, and boots he scrambled almost gracefully up the wall while Boreal and Bell lounged nearby in the snow, lightly dozing and watching alertly, respectively.
Sliding down the back of the wall, Tal trotted back around to the front and started again, this time picking a harder route among the varied holds and volumes that Deimos had peppered it with - and blissfully oblivious to anyone else entering the training yard just then as his full focus went to planning his next hand-and-foot holds.
