That's not pointing north." He handed the compass back to her. "And I suppose that means we'll have to picnic?" Although he sighed, he shot her a wink.
"Me too. It was a mess." As she wiped the dirt off his chin, he pressed it into her hand in the brief moment of contact. "The Nightshade, Melita, and this man named Tal, though he bailed early. Smart man." He chuckled.
