Half a statement about coming to Halo to do more than cure stomach aches sat behind his tongue, and he caught it halfway before it escaped into the wind – because if that’s all she wanted to do, then that was her choice.

The cheers wasn’t a grand one, considering his was almost decimated already, but he snorted and snickered just the same. “Welcome home then,” he uttered around the notions, aiming for better things, rather than all the haunted parallels left behind.
