“Thank you,” came on a quieter fold, but not for long – Sila unfurled her wings, brandished another screech, and then seemed to preen from the compliment. The Honeybee rolled her eyes, but then flickered her attention back to the courier, if only because the mildest of curiosity had settled there.

Melita hadn’t had to worry about the weather before, not really – she’d often prepared for it if she was hiking towards Halo or marching along the swamps. This, the unexpected, combined with her stubborn pride of not retreating to her home to find more garments, jarred at her senses. “Oh,” she uttered, not giving sentiments of either disinterest or intrigue.
