Quiver at her back, with all its elemental derision, sizzled and snapped and promised action, and she pulled at the bracelet along her wrist, drawing an imaginary line to ensure it sprung within her hands, tangible and real.
“Now,” she whispered to her accompanying, bonded souls, “all we need is a predator to snag.” She was already thinking of gore crows or swamp rats, since those seemed inclined to haunt the area, and she’d already dealt with the former. “Let me know when you see one.” The young dragon yawned and stretched her wings, but Fangorn abided in a soft nod and low rumble.
