Sunjata’s report doesn’t make her feel great, and she doesn’t bother to try and hide her disappointment in their lack of progress regarding the dome. “Okay,” comes tight-lipped as she nods and leans both elbows on the table. “Good to know.”
And then there’s even more disappointing news, and Wessex audibly sighs, letting her head fall into her hands. “Fucking Stormbreak.” Far less eloquent than either the Archon or the Remedy, because in the back of her head, there’s that high-pitched, tiny voice repeating over and over, and it’s all because of you. With the death-sentence, the relic they’ve been hunting is more or less out of reach. The other one, unheard of and also probably out of reach. “Okay. Okay.” Gods, it’s hard to keep her focus here, and as her mind starts to wander to what all that means in the long-run, Loki gives her a little bite.
It doesn’t hurt, of course, but the pressure makes her look down and then refocus. Death. Right. Sunshine and other kinds of death. “Agreed on the Spire as a fortress, and everyone should know about these developments, so they aren’t a surprise - let’s put it on the Board, but speaking of letting people know…” Reaching into her bag, she pulls out the syringe that’s been a useful companion over the years. “I’ll trade you,” she says to Isla, meaning of course, everything she’d given the Remedy to hold. “Same with you, Mister Archon.” For the Flood, however, she pulls up the Infernbow and puts it on the table. “This baby sets a bolt on fire when you pull the trigger. It's nice, but we just can’t handle it.”
And again... that's her own dumb oversight. Somehow, the shine of her success in the Draig is starting to pale in comparison to everything that's just been laid out before them, weapons and all.
