Peter backed down from their short, invisible stand-off and Adam visibly relaxed, not really listening to the answer he was given. With his right pointer finger he stroked down from the scar that got to the corner of his mouth to it's end by the side of his neck, feeling each bump and stretch of skin. It was ugly, felt so huge and obvious when he couldn't see it. "...Right. Anyway." As if a switch had been pressed, all the tension in Adam melted away and he relaxed again, sinking into the chair and downing his drink.
