The Portals wouldn't last the War, Tal figured. Or at least, once all hail broke loose he doubted they'd be safe anymore, so getting one last push out of them probably wouldn't piss the gods off. He hoped.
Well, Frey wouldn't mind at least.
And it meant getting his ass to Torchline went a lot faster, when time was of the essence.
Sure, there were blacksmiths in Halo he could have gone to, and one weaponsmith in particular he would have approached in the past but... But. He still hadn't figured out how to apologize, and he had some errands to run in Torchline anyways, and maybe the work could be done here while he was doing his other tasks in the area. Multitasking!
Or so he'd hoped, but as he ambled through the streets of Haulani in a light sweater against the bracing chill he was having trouble finding a place that would take his commission. Pausing in a square where a fountain burbled with icy water he sighed and scuffed a stone across the dirt for Boreal to chase after. "We need help, girl," he informed the dragon bluntly. "Or we're never gonna get this damned knife made!"
