That was just because of stupid Halo. "It was just a building. It fell, and he...but...it wasn't a monster or anything, so.." ..so he wasn't...because you didn't just die from a building. Not during a war, and especially not during a battle that they'd all but been winning.
And not because Flora had asked him to stay with her.
