I was born into the light Under wide and open skies Noah hadn’t seen the sun in several days. No, surely it had been a fortnight. Perhaps a month. Maybe six weeks. Today, however, golden rays peaked over the remnants of the Fangs and brushed the frozen kingdom in its glorious warmth. He woke to light filtering through the window of his bedroom, and it brought him up quickly. Kissing his sleeping wife and her growing belly before he left, Noah knew where he had to go.
It had been well over a year since Noah had sought a company with any of the gods at a shrine. His prayers rose high with the offerings he left, but as for calling upon Safrin, or Vi, or anyone for that matter hadn’t happened since the war. He had seen Safrin, she had called to him, but now as golden sunlight touched his face, Noah knew he needed to call upon Vi. Placing the carefully crafted knife at the edge of the altar, Noah spoke. ”Vi,” It was more than a whisper, though not by much, and Noah closed his eyes as he ran his finger over the roses carved in the hilt of ursur tusk.
