"Papà," he all but blurts in his surprise, which is absolutely not how he had imagined this going when he was practicing in his mirror that morning. "Er, I mean... Buon pomeriggio. I did not... well, I was not expecting you to just..."
Gesturing vaguely with his arms as if to indicate the Lullaby's sudden appearance, Mateo feels suddenly more like a child than ever.
