With the return of the sun, Noah was energized. He vibrated with nervous energy. The coming of the twins was any day -- he knew he had been saying that for weeks, but in the last hours of longnight, his wife started having mild contractions. They had been told by Cordelia's mother and the other elder women that a first labor could take a long time, even a few days. Thus, Noah was sent out again to release some of his tension while his mother-in-law tended to his wife.
He ended up at the bay helping a few fishermen get ready and set for the day. He hadn't spent too much time on the black sands, and was eager to learn what they had for him. Today, however, Noah wasn't so sure it would be wise for him to head out to sea. So, after they were set, he ended up heading to another section of the beach where the black sands dropped to the water in a steep, nearly 90 degree angle.
There, he sat and watched the icy cold waves.
